An Okuma Rockaway Surf Spinning Reel is for those whose idea of surfing is with a reel and rod and not a board of some sort. The Rockaway Surf Reel augments Rockaway Surf Rods by featuring a long cast spool design and a lightweight corrosion-resistant body. The Rockaway Spinning configuration reels in line under a 5.3:1 gear ratio and functions through a 4BB+1RB bearing system. The 6000 model stops fish with 26 lbs. of drag while the 8000 version fights fish with a 35 max drag. A rigid metal handle design reduces flex. The Cyclonic Flow Rotor technology effectively sends air through the rotor to minimize water intrusion and corrosion.
